Note: This formation appears earlier in various senses, perhaps all independently coined, from about 1969 on. "Infographics" was the title of the nineteenth meeting of the National Microfilm Association in 1970 (here probably suggested by earlier micrographics), and appears in "Ferranti Infographics," from the 1970's to 1993 a division of the British firm Ferranti International.
